About us

Avon Barrier are specialist in hostile vehicle mitigation and traffic control systems

Avon Barrier is a leading specialist in Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) and traffic control systems, providing impact-tested Vehicle Security Barriers (VSB) to clients worldwide. As global exporters, we ensure our products meet the highest security standards, including certifications from the UK’s National Protective Security Authority (NPSA). Our extensive range of solutions includes road blockers, traffic control barriers, security bollards, and gates, all rigorously tested to internationally recognised standards such as PAS 68, IWA 14-1, and ASTM 2656.

Founded over 25 years ago by a team of engineers with expertise in vehicle control systems, Avon Barrier initially focused on parking barriers and security barrier systems. However, the rise of global terrorism in the 1990s highlighted the urgent need for advanced barrier and blocking systems capable of withstanding or mitigating hostile vehicle attacks. Our pioneering work, including the first road blocker impact test in 2004 conducted in collaboration with the UK Government, contributed to the creation of PAS 68, a British Standards Institute (BSI) specification that originally defines industry standards for physical security measures.

As an ISO 9001-accredited company, we prioritise quality, professionalism, and reliability in all aspects of our work, from innovative security barrier design to expert project management and seamless system implementation.

With thousands of successful projects and a strong network of global partners, Avon Barrier has extensive experience in delivering vehicle and pedestrian control solutions for international projects. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, effective, and aesthetically designed physical security solutions that protect public spaces from threats while maintaining accessibility and functionality.
